The New York City Graffiti Scene Through the Lens of Martha Cooper

Martha Cooper is one of the most influential photographers of the contemporary age, with her shots she documented the graffiti revolution during its golden years before it went global. Her shots of graffiti and street art are used as a benchmark for photographs of this genre, and her first book, Subway Art, originally published in 1984 has been described as a “landmark photographic history and it’s considered as the ”Bible of Graffiti ”, with iconic shots of some of the Godfathers of Graffiti, such as Futura 2000, Dondi, and Lady Pink.
